this did not work for me when I wanted to delete an app which no longer exists
from the dock. I had to enlist the help of apple support for people with access
requirements and the lady was able to do it guiding me without voice-over. she
did a screen share and in this way could instruct me. she was very surprised
also that we could not do it with voice-over. I must point out that the icon
was there but I'd remove the application from the Mac in the first instance.
