One of the first questions I’m asked about the new Mac mini M1 is about speed
so I found an interesting bit of trivia through my work with the machine over
the past 72 hours which may interest folks.
So how fast is the M1? Well let’s compare it to an Intel Mac in this way and
you might get some idea of the increase in performance, its by no means
accurate but it does give you an idea.
Now suppose you open the VoiceOver Utility on an Intel Mac you hear VoiceOver
announce, Opening VoiceOver Utility and then the utility opens, so far so good.
Open the VoiceOver Utility on a M1 machine and the announcement can barely be
spoken before the General VoiceOver screen is announced, damn fast.
