Hi Kim,
    Welcome to the list.

    Yes, when the update is available, you will just download it through the 
Mac App store.  It will be a simple process.

     There are a lot of shortcuts and various approaches to carrying out tasks 
on the Mac.  So, don't be surprised if people will throw out more than one way 
of doing things.  Sometimes, with VoiceOver, the commands will overlap with Mac 
OS X keyboard commands.  I know our resident cat lover will kill me for using 
this expression, but there is more than one way to skin a cat when it comes to 
using the Mac effectively.
