[mac4theblind] Interesting Notification

The other day, at boot up, I got a notification advising me to clean up my
machine.
I hit a "cleanup" button, and immediately went back to normal.
Is there accessible software out there to tune up one of these things?
(macbook pro, in my case)?
I didn't think macs needed tuning up, but I'm probably wrong on that score.
