Hi.
I’ve found a combination of keyboard shortcuts which will enable me to do what
I want, 2 keyboard shortcuts are used and I would prefer 1 but still I get the
job done and thanks to everyone who contributed to this discussion.
So I want to delete eMail messages perminatly from the computer and I want full
control over what I delete, I don’t want what I delete moved to the trash I
want it erased entirely so this is what I .
If I come across an eMail message or group of eMail messages I select them and
then press command-shift-j to move the selected eMail Messages to the junk box.
When I have finished going through my In-Box and moved all the offending eMail
Messages to the Junk-Box I then press command-option j to erase all junk, I am
then prompted with a warning before all junk is removed.
Seems about as good as we can make it <smile>

you can set up certain actions in the mailbox’s of accounts under mail
preferences on the mailbox tab
also,you can set junk mailbox to delete items when you close the apple mail app
also,you can press cmd-shift-del it prompts if you want to do this,vo-right
arrow to erase and enter

Suppose you get a whole heap of junk eMail in your in-box as of ten happens
here.
You can use the shift-arrow keys to select them and move them to the bin, so
far so good.
The problem is then you have to select all those junk eMail messages over again
in the bin and delete to get them off your system.
Is there a command that can simplify this procedure? Say select your junk eMail
messages from the In-Box and then use a single keystroke to bypass the Bin and
delete from the system.

within the mail app itself. Also, if your arrow keys were behaving that way,
it sounds like you didn’t have the roofer set to navigation. Once this is

Apple Mail is actually very easy to manage. As long as you under stand the
mailbox list, message table and the message content area, you can use keyboard
commands to easily navigate back and forth. If you get lost, command-1 will
always put the focus back on the unified inbox. If you use the favorites bar,
you can even customize specific mailboxes you want easy access to. Overall,
it’s like anything else on the Mac or PC. If you take the time to learn it and
use it, you can make it work however you need it. I find Apple Mail far more
enjoyable and easier to use than Outlook or Windows Mail for a variety of
reasons. My only complaint about Apple Mail was the removal of being able to
block senders and the receipt option.

keyboard into it. What I did was go over to the View window by pressing VO and
the right arrow. Then when I got there I down arrowed and found it saying
something like find a different view. When I Vo spaced on that it took me to
where the messages happen to be.
But I don't like Apple Mail it doesn't need to be as involved as it is.
