Hi all. I'm a long-time iOS and Mac Pro desktop user. Now I'm thinking
about buying my first Macbook Pro, but I'm confused about what's available
on the Apple store. Hoping you all can advise me, even though this isn't
strictly an accessibility topic.

The Apple Store has a 13" Macbook Pro, and five models of Macbook Pro with
Retina Display, with varying processor and display size combinations.
Clearly I'm most interested in the 13" Macbook Pro (non-Retina), as the
Retina display and larger screen size have no benefit for me.

But if I understand correctly, the 13" Macbook Pro (non-Retina) is model
number MD101LL, which was released in 2012. So I'm concerned about product
lifespan. Apple is still selling this as a new computer, so I'd hope that
it would be viable for at least the next five OSX upgrades. But, it's
already two years old, and I want to avoid finding out a couple years from
now that the latest OSX won't be supported on the MD101LL.

So... To make a long story short, does anyone have any thoughts of
knowledge of how long I can expect the MD101LL to be a viable product?
Thanks.
