Yeah, for the casual user, a lot of the changes you'll notice are in load times and how quickly your app processes information. by and large, though, it's the same operating system. If you are a power user, I hear there have been some major complaints about features being dumbed down or completely taken out, but you'd have to be a pretty hardcore mac user to notice that kind of stuff.
A welcome change is that when you load safari, assuming you don't change the default settings, you'll be taken to a toolbar that has all your most recent, and most frequently visited websites right there on the page, so if you use the trackpad, you can just find where you want to go and give it a tap.
