Have you tried opening the PDF in iBooks on the Mac. It will default to
Preview, but I think this insures that it will sync to the phone.

So I've been playing with iBooks on the phone and had a PDF open in preview
on the mac for ages so thought oh let's add the pdf to the library on iBooks.
Well I noticed that even when I plugged the phone into the computer to charge
and let it sync, it shows all the other books I have in iBooks but not the
PDF document. Does anyone know how to fix this annoyance please?
