Barbara, it depends on what carrier you are using. VOLTE is available across the entire Verizon Wireless network. I actually helped design that platform so if you have any verizon specific questions let me know. T-Mobile appears to have VOLTE widely deployed and I can confirm it works in the north east. AT&T is slowly rolling out the feature and Sprint I have no ida I believe it was in the works. At this time I can only confirm T-Mobile and Verizon as being ready and if you have Sprint or AT&T you should call customer service to confirm the status. If enabled you should have a voice and data option for LTE under settings / cellular on the iPhone. I believe only the 6 and 6+ support the feature as do the Galaxy S5, Note 4 and many other droid devices.
