Actually there's an easier way I remove apps
1. launch settings.
2. tap general
3. tap usage
4. Under the space part of the phone tap manage usage and wait for the list to
populate
5. You ca bring up the item chooser for easier navigation with 32 finger triple
tap or just find the app.
6. tap the app and tap remove
7. confirm.
The reason I do it this way is I often reinstall apps and I like them to be
where I last installed them. doing it this way ensures this.

Simply double tap and hold I believe it is until you her the state change
from double tap to open to double tap to delete or hold and drag to move.
Double tap the icon you want to remove and it should prompt you yes or no,
click yes and then press the home button once you’ve deleted what you want.
Take care not to delete other items you want to keep.
