yep, when this happens, OS X auto renames the files to include a -1, -2, -3 before the extension name. so, as long as you leave one of the downloads, doesn't matter which by the way, then you can select each one or a shift select and Command Delete. sent to the trash. then empty trash. Command Shift Delete. there is a notable exclusion in certain instances like MacX youtube downloader free edition where every few days, some barn pot rewrites the application and produces a new download. if you still have your first download of that app in the downloads folder, take not that the new download will include -1 to it. this is the newer version. it can apply to any application you download where you unpack it from a dmg file to update. so use the newer version -1 and delete the previous version. to save that hassle, install any software, delete it from the downloads folder but back up the installer to another directory or external device as I usually do with my master toolbox disk. lew On 18 Oct 2013, at 08:53, "Mackenzie Andrew (EAST CHESHIRE NHS TRUST - RJN)" <andrew.mackenzie4@xxxxxxx> wrote: > Hi all, I have inadvertanly downloaded drop bocxonto my Mac 2/3 > times.
