yep,

when this happens, OS X auto renames the files to include a -1, -2, -3 before
the extension name. so, as long as you leave one of the downloads, doesn't
matter which by the way, then you can select each one or a shift select and
Command Delete. sent to the trash. then empty trash. Command Shift Delete.

there is a notable exclusion in certain instances like MacX youtube downloader
free edition where every few days, some barn pot rewrites the application and
produces a new download. if you still have your first download of that app in
the downloads folder, take not that the new download will include -1 to it.
this is the newer version. it can apply to any application you download where
you unpack it from a dmg file to update. so use the newer version -1 and delete
the previous version.

to save that hassle, install any software, delete it from the downloads folder
but back up the installer to another directory or external device as I usually
do with my master toolbox disk.

If so how can I do this?

Thanks

Hi David,

May I please ask, why are you attaching non relevant audio files to your
emails to be posted to the list? I've observed on a few occasions that you've
posted files including cat files, etc, though I find it amusing to a degree and
as no doubt others may do, please could you not attach these files? this takes
up space on list serves which has to be maintained on a regular basis.

it's worth noting that in some circumstances, emails containing audio files or
other data that's unexpected, that these emails could be directed to trash,
junk mail, be scanned by antivirus products, etc. with this, it can concern
users who may not be familiar with what's done.

unless the file directly relates to a user's issues, please could you refrain
from posting file attachments.

I do like a good laugh so please don't think I'm a kill joy but this is to
ensure a stable running of the list and the safety of it's many users and
clients. I do hope you understand my concern on this matter.

Sincerely.

Lew.

Hi Dan,

I get the correct results here. I fill in the title, fill in the artist and it
