There's no way, I've seen far more phones break outside of them and never seen 
a phone even scratched in side a defender.  I know a US Marine who served in 
Afghanistan and carried his iPhone in an otterbox.  Didn't have a scratch on 
it.  I figure if the phone can survive a war zone it can survive my use.  I 
tried life proof this time but am going to switch it out this weekend with a 
defender if I can find one so I have a functional finger print censor.  I have 
nothing but positive comments about defender cases or otter box
 products in general.  Personally I've had a 4 and 4s stored in one and the 
phones are like brand new.
