I know a US Marine who served in Afghanistan and carried his iPhone in an otterbox. Didn't have a scratch on it. I figure if the phone can survive a war zone it can survive my use. I tried life proof this time but am going to switch it out this weekend with a defender if I can find one so I have a functional finger print censor. I have nothing but positive comments about defender cases or otter box products in general. Personally I've had a 4 and 4s stored in one and the phones are like brand new.
