The screen curtain has absolutely no effect on Battery Life. What does have
affect on Battery Life is to turn the video brightness down as far as you can.
Just know that if you turn it all the way down, and you need cited help,
depending on the lighting conditions and their vision, you might have problems.
You will need to be able to turn it up a little bit.

I have an iPad Air. The sound is all right, I suppose. If you're
looking for a hiFi experience, as it were, then you might want to
consider a bluetooth speaker. I'm happy with my iPad Air except that
now I think the screen is too large for my needs.
