Are you being sure to interact with the browser in Finder? File names
should read as normal, but you have to be certain you are interacting and you
must use the VO-arrows to navigate in some cases.

Hi
I am running the latest OSX on my MacBook. How do I get VoiceOver to read
the names of the files in the Documents and download folders respectively?
Problem started after updating to high Sierra.
I use to be able to use the VO commands and read the names of the files. I
have the files showing as lists. VO seems very sluggish when I am in the
file list and seems to lose focus.
