Please plan to attend this interactive workshop showcasing the ease of
use and versatility of the Vernier Computer Interface and PASCO systems.
The workshop will provide active experiences with sensors supporting
four strands: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Earth Science at all
levels from Middle School to High School. All of the experiments are
adaptable to curriculum and the building of student-centered, authentic
inquiry.

This workshop will assist teachers in the use of technology in the
development of "Hands-on, Minds-on" science lessons. Ms. Kiza Armour
and UNH Fellow James Fraser will present inquiry-designed activities
using both Vernier and PASCO interfaces. This is an opportunity to use
both systems for side-by-side comparisons. Attendees can also attend a
3-day intensive workshop this summer (July 12-14, 2005) to be able to
borrow customized Vernier Instrument packages for their classes during
the academic year. All experiments are fully supported by the CDs
included in resource books and by Advancing Science staff.

The workshop will include group discussions on the uses, changes, and
applications of the Vernier and PASCO laboratory interfaces, focusing on
the kinds of thinking students are doing, changes in objectives and
assessments, adaptations, challenges, and benefits of using these
computer-based laboratory systems.
