Looks like the pivot rise design is patented, http://www.google.com/patents?vid=USPAT6398237

I am not a specialist on patents, but I can only see that the scope of the patent is the skateboard. The invention is not about the geometry, but is part of an application in the skateboard. It cannot be the pivot anyway because there is prior art: all the shopping carts use this geometry: pivot in front of wheel, negative angle.
