I'm
still not sure why anyone would have a big rear wheel if they don't have to.
From having two 26" wheels and going to a 26/20 and a 26/16 combination, if
there's any disadvantage to a small rear wheel I have no idea what they
would be. You can maintain the same wheelbase while lightening the python,
and shortening the length.
For me its mostly aesthetics to choose two 26" wheels, but I admit that both your pythons look nice with the 26/20 and 26/16 combination.
