Hey everyone,
I have been away for awhile on a climbing trip, but now I am back and have some
news on my python. It is complete, and I have been using a 20" (406) front
wheel. So far, I have been able to ride down the street without crashing! I
originally had it set up with a 26"(559) wheel, with a 1" tire giving me a VERY
close tolerance between the tire, and my inseam! So I swapped it out for a
wheel built by Poweroncycling. They can also build 20" wheels that are 451
size for the same price. I haven't yet found a wheel builder who will tackle a
24" wheel due to the availability. Anyways, I just wanted all of you to know
that 20" wheels work great and come in a variety of sizes. Check out that

Hi all,
I am getting close to building a python. I was away a few weeks ago
getting married in my home town 2500kms away. I have a cousin that welds
and I slipped out one night when the new wife was not looking and did some
MIG and TIG welding. It went pretty well and was easier than I had hoped.
I think I will do more practice on a PYTHON frame.
My biggest problem as I have said before is with my small size. I am 5'4"
(162cm) with a 29 inch(74cm) inseam. I realize the PYTHON is a simple
machine but hope to build a mid drive sometime to allow me to run 3 inch
wide 26 inch mountainbike tires.

I am very interested in the 20 inch(406) wheel version first . I will try
a 26 or 20 inch(406) rear with a 20 inch(406 front).
Any guesses if I should stick to 20"(406) rear with the 20 inch(406) front
or do you think it will be all right with the 26 inch rear?
Do you think the wheelbase should be shrunk with the smaller tires or kept
the same as it would be with the larger wheels?
