Yes, you will need to forward for both TCP and UDP and force transmittion to 
use the ports you decide in stead of allowing it to randomize it's port each 
time the process starts.  If you are in a position of paying for bandwidth this 
annoyance now will save you infinite time and money later.  For example, you no 
longer need to upload the image to a server, only the .torrent file, although 
you have the option of hoasting the image remotely as well.  plus, it will 
reduce the volume of bandwidth required to host the image by as much as 90 per 
sent.
I don't know transmition very well.  It was only half-assed accessible on the 
mac and when Utorrent for mac came along it was the obvious choice.  I like it 
on both mac and windows and highly recommend it for newbies for features, 
simplicity and accessibility as well as support from the community.
