I still use it as my calculator on the terminal when I don't have Python available on a target platform (if I do have python, I just fire it up and enter expressions there, as I don't usually have need for greater precision than what it provides). However, I was pretty sure that "bc" was one of the requirements for the Linux Standards Base (LSB) and a quick check of Debian's reverse-dependencies for "bc" suggests that this is the case. It seems that some stripped-down systems lack "bc" (I just tried with a Digi ConnectPort and it too lacked "bc", but strangely does include "dc"). -tkc =========================================================== The raspberry-vi mailing list Archives: //www.freelists.org/archives/raspberry-vi Administrative contact: <mike.ray@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> ----------------------------------------------------------- Raspberry Pi and the Raspberry Pi logo are trademarks of the Raspberry Pi Foundation.
