Hi again folks. On friday afternoon I checked again with the USB audio card I
have.
When I type arecord -l it shows the card name, but states:
Card 0 Soundblaster X Fire-Go Pro, Subdevices 0/1.
I did manage to get USB audio support started only once, but changed Orca
settings to get faster speech. It worked, but only until I restarted the pi,
after that I never got audio out of that card again.
I’ve since updated, and upgraded the pi’s software to see if that doesn’t solve
the current hickup with USB Audio, but when I do arecord -l I still get:
Capture devices, card 0 Soundblaster X-fire go pro, subdevice 0/1.
If I move it to another USB port, I get:
Capture devices, Card0 Soundblaster X-fire go pro, USB Audio, Subdevice 1/1,
Subdevices 0/1, 0/1.
Whatever that means I’m not sure, if it means the card has no drivers/is not
generic, then why on earth did I get it to work once?
Ok, admitted, the speech of orca on that one successful USB-audio start was
quite crackly, but not inaudible or terribly hard to work with. I’ve gotten
used to that kind of problem with Ubuntu10/12 if the CPU of the machine is slow.
Thus I thought that pretty normal, knowing that the B2 has a quadcore but only
1GB ram.
So, I’m newly stuck with my USB
soundcard.===========================================================
