Hi Mike, espeak voices not only sound like a robot, they seem to be annoying to most. I install NVDA for folks in their home, and when they hear espeak, they say they don't think they can use it. I change it to a SAPI voice, and they are happy. I prefer the eloquence, as it is not annoying, and yet it offers some privacy, as sighted folk can't keep up with it. Messing about with different synthesiser voices seems to be the blind person's equivalent to the time sighted people waste tinkering with desktop colour schemes instead of doing useful work.
