Hello folks,
Please note that the freelists list system limits the length of any
email you can post to the list.
This means that very long threads, which are so long as a result of
quoting, will bounce.
I get sent a bounce notification as the list manager and owner.
The bounce gives me the chance to approve the email to go to the list.
However, I don't have the time to process and approve these bounces.
So please, when a thread gets long, trim the older text from it if you
don't want your post to bounce and not be sent onward to the list.
Note also that some people might prefer bottom-posting.
I personally prefer top-posting, and I think most VI folks do. If you
come to a thread after many posts though, top-posting might make the
sequence difficult to follow.
However, I am not going to try to enforce either top or bottom-posting.
And I won't tolerate anybody criticising anybody else on the list if
they post one way or the other.
I guess we are almost all VI to some degree, so just do what you are
comfortable with.
