Ubuntu and other Debian-derived distros store their sources in
/etc/apt/sources.list. Each line has four parts:
1. deb for binary package repositories or deb src for source package
repositories.
2. the repository's URL... I don't know about Ubuntu, but for Debian,
I think the default is ftp.xx.debian.org/debian where xx is your
country's two-letter abbreviation.
3. Release. This can either be codename(Stretch/buster/bullseye) or
branch(stable/testing/unstable)... Those examples are based on Debian.
4. Not sure what tho call the last bit, but for Debian, this is where
you would specify main, contrib, or non-free(I believe Ubuntu uses the
terms main, contrib, universe, and multiverse.
With any line starting with # treated as a comment.
