Hello Mo,
I think the file just needs to be there, the contents of it are not
important and it can have zero length.
The easiest way is to mount the FAT partition of the card on a Linux
machine and then, in the partition:
$ touch ssh
Will create a zero-length file called ssh.

Hi Mike.
This is quite concerning. So what does the file need to contain? I'd
assume you can copy the file manually before inserting your SD card to
the fat partition?
cheers,
Mo.

Hello folks,
Apparently there's a new 'security' change to the latest version of
Raspbian downloadable from the Foundation Web site.
Now the SSH server will not start unless there is a file called 'ssh' in
the boot partition.
Great, now perhaps they should change sudo so that the pi user needs to
enter a password.
Papering over non existent cracks if you ask me but there it is.
What can you expect when they insist 'Pixel' is not just another theme
of LXDE?
