Mewtamer. Thank you and thank you for your comments on automation. And the info
about the wifi adapter stuff.
The problem with freebsd is there is currently no driver for the built in wifi
card on the pi. Why I haven't a clue.
In fact, its kind of odd. It seems to be hard to find wifi adapters for
freebsd. I looked at the driver supported list for FreeBSD and most if not all
of them supported are old hardware or there are so many different ones out
there one hasn't a clue what one should get.
I am really limited on funds now. So any more buying of anything will have to
wait a while. But thanks a bunch for the input. Really appreciate all of it.
And especially your comments on automation and the like. Just thank you!
I was sitting here thinking how on earth can you get your points across the way
you do. Then I realized that you said it yourself. Your a writer. Writers are
good with words and using them well.
I am sure whatever your life brings you. You will make a good mark on this
world. Just keep writing and keep doing what you can.
Thank you.
Jessica
One lesson I've learned the hard way tinkering with Linux: You can
never have too many back ups.
Depending on how much effort it takes to redo the SD card from
scratch, you might want to consider creating a backup image of the SD
card that already has speech installed in the console and which you've
made the tweaks you like to both as a ways of making repairing a
borked main card quicker and as a base for testing stuff that might
bork the card.
Fortunately, if you're already using dd to burn the official Raspbian
image, creating your own custom image is easy: just set the SD card as
input instead of output and set the output to something like
"Jessica's Raspbian Backup.img".
