Thus, a model of the perky built on a Pi Zero would effectively have
no USB ports even running a terminal-only system while a model running
on the Pi 3 could have three user available USB ports along side the
GUI or 4 USB ports running in text-mode. Granted, you could hook up a
powered USB hub to the Pi Zero, but that probably goes quite a ways
towards defeating the cost, space, and energy savings represented by
the Pi Zero, and would also make the hardware design a bit more
complicated.
As for battery life, 30 hours already blows any multi-purpose mobile
device designed for sighted use out of the water, though it does make
me wonder if the Pi 3 has some kind of standby or single core mode
that can be used to push battery life further.
