Hello folks,
Does anybody on here use wicd to handle wifi connections?
I'm trying to get to grips using wicd on a laptop so that I can roam.
Of course the wicd-client is not very accessible, but I'm developing the
right keystrokes to get it to do what I need.
But there is some stuff I don't understand.
As far as I know my home wifi is WPA2-PSK. This is not one of the
options on the list of encrypted types on the wicd-client.
However I think I have got it to recognise my network but it is asking
for the 'domain'. I have no idea what this is.
I am sick of having to use the command-line for wifi networks. This is
the only time you will ever see me say I am sick of something in the
command-line, but for trudging around with a laptop to different
community centres and cafes etc you can't be mucking about with editing
wpa_supplicant.conf etc.
You just want to find the strong signal of a cafe wifi and connect.
Any ideas?
Mike
