Shaft,
Comprehensive, effective review. I will answer your questions. sHank is
out-of-pocket working on a big project.
Hole 3, why just 2 hours: There are 4 holes with the same rules, so they2 volunteers vice 1 so they have someone to talk to or hold the fort during
don’t need to be explained after they have played one of the four.
Hole 4, why 4 volunteers: There are two locations for volunteers, one above
the pond at the back tees where the contest is held, and one at the forward
tees and on the green where the teeing grounds are.
Hole 5, why just 2 hours
Hole 7, why 4 volunteers. There are two locations for volunteers, one at the
back teeing ground where the contest is held and one on the fairway where the
first shot is taken, either from the fairway or from the rough near the
bunker.
Hole 9, why 2 volunteers

sHank – really nice job, you put a lot of very nice work and thought into
each hole’s contest. Quite imaginative as well if I might add. If this
document were posted on the PGD web site as is, I would recommend adding
somewhere at the top that the pre-tee off contests have yet to be determined
with the exception of hole 4. Other than that, the overview layouts of the
holes and designated tee boxes is well explained and laid out. We will
obviously have to pass this information on to our volunteers.
Speaking of volunteers, I had some questions about the estimates you made.
Hole 3, why just 2 hours
Hole 4, why 4 volunteers
Hole 5, why just 2 hours
Hole 7, why 4 volunteers
Hole 9, why 2 volunteers
Etc.
Why don’t you explain to all of us on Friday that are attending the volunteer
meeting so we get in sync with your thinking.

Subject: [sogagg] 2018 Patriot Golf Day On-Course Contest Rules
SOGAGG,
Thanks to sHank, we are well ahead of schedule on figuring out the
on-course contest plans. Please review the attached rules and provide
feedback.
The Contest Rules file lays out the proposed play rules for each hole.
sHank leaves open the decision on the exact pre-tee off contests to be
played, except for the chip a ball into the tub on the pond for hole 4.
Please read these from the perspective of players who have not been in on our
discussions. We would like these to be as clear as possible to the players.
The Total Drive Card with directions on the back will be provided to each
player, or each cart.
The Patriot Golf Day View file provides a graphic for each hole for
clarity. Note that the gold tees are moved up from their normal forward
position on several holes.
The last few pages of the Contest Rules is for our use. It lays out the
optimal number of volunteers required as well as the number of canopies and
coolers we will need. We can probably do with less.
Warm Regards,
Rules
