This morning I was scheduled to lead a public bird hike for Bell's Bend Park here in Nashville. None of the registrants showed up, so I walked the outer 2.5 mile loop myself and enjoyed some nice birding and photography. The highlight for me was the surprising warbler species that ended up being most numerous - NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH! I had at least 13, which I believe is TN's record high count for a single location. It seemed I was rarely out of earshot of one throughout the morning. The other highlights were: a singing LINCOLN'S SPARROW a YELLOW PALM WARBLER (much rarer here than Western Palm Warbler) that I was able to photograph one HENSLOW'S SPARROW (habitat has grown up, but the part staff cleared a lot of areas that should hold birds next year) one WILLOW FLYCATCHER that was "whit" calling; it was in an area of the park where I had not previously seen one Full list below.
