April 29, 2011 Greene County: Greeneville, Tusculum, and vicinity A little birding time early and late today produced the following: Green Heron (along lower Holly Creek in Tusculum) Solitary Sandpiper Chimney Swift (28) Great Crested Flycatcher (3) Eastern Kingbird (2) Blue-headed Vireo Red-eyed Vireo (7) Barn Swallow (4) House Wren (9) Gray Catbird (3) Brown Thrasher (3) Tennessee Warbler Northern Parula Cape May Warbler (5) Yellow-rumped Warbler (3) Black-throated Green Warbler (3) Blackpoll Warbler (2) American Redstart (2) Ovenbird Swamp Sparrow (along lower Holly Creek in Tusculum) Rose-breasted Grosbeak Indigo Bunting (2) Orchard Oriole All the warblers were observed inside the Greeneville city limits, mostly in mature deciduous trees.
