While out walking Monday, mom and I briefly saw this bird
at a distance when it flew from scrub brush below a TVA
tower to a nearby telephone line, then flew off. After an
hour of looking we did not relocate it. Nor could we find it
on Tuesday or Wednesday when we had a camera. It
popped up again Thursday, but down the road a piece
and of course, no camera. Yesterday, Friday, we found it
further down the road, and mom snapped these distant
shots. Through the scope, I thought I saw some red or
pink in the eye, but I don't see it in the photos. Also note,
I saw it snatch from the air a gnat or fly or something
flying by while perched on this small tree. My guess is
Indigo Bunting, but I would like to hear from more
experienced birders. What do you think?
