Dear friends, The “wildlife-watching” community may never again engage with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency on an issue as important as whether they should recommend a hunting season on Sandhill Cranes. Cranes have never been legally hunted in the state, and never before has the status of a species been changed from un-hunted to hunted in Tennessee. If you have an opinion about a Sandhill Crane hunt that would begin this fall, please let your voice be heard! Attached is background on this issue and talking points. PLEASE SEND YOUR COMMENTS BEFORE AUGUST 10th. Send comments to: TWRA.Comment@xxxxxx And copy: TWRA Director, Ed Carter ed.carter@xxxxxx And: TFWC Chairman, Dr. Jeff McMillin jeff.mcmillin@xxxxxx And: The rest of the commissioners listed at the bottom of the attachment. Thanks for your time on this important and critical issue! Respectfully submitted, Ron Hoff President / state bird count compiler Tennessee Ornithological Society 282 Hackworth Ln.
