Allan Trently, East Tennessee Vice-President of the Tennessee Ornithological Society and a Northeast Tennessee birder who has been active in the Bristol Bird Club and the Herndon Chapter of TOS at Elizabethton, has been hired by the Tennessee Valley Authority as a terrestial zoologist. He will begin work in a couple of weeks. Trently will be with the TVA Regional Natural Heritage Program at Norris, TN. Allan will be working under Travis Hill Henry, Endangered Species Specialist. Allan researched Common Raven nesting in East Tennessee for his M.S. in conservation biology at East Tennessee State University under Dr. Fred Alsop. He has been teaching biology at Northeast State Technical Community College at Blountville. He will continue his duties there each Friday until the end of the term. He has also been working for several summers as a Seasonal Ecologist with the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy. He is the brother of David Trently of Knoxville, a former state treasurer of the Tennessee Ornithological Society and active in Knoxville TOS. Allan moved to Northeast Tennessee from Knoxville in the mid-1990's when he entered graduate school at ETSU. Let's go birding.....
