Late this afternoon I went to the sod farm adjacent to Bark Camp Barrens WMA in Coffee Co. and had a nice bunch of shorebirds. There were 1 Am. Golden Plover, 1 Semipalmated Plover, 1 Ruddy Turnstone, 6 Buff-breasted Sandpipers and 8 Pectorals in addition to the eleventy billion Killdeer. They were concentrated in the extreme southeast corner of the sod area, where they have recently removed sod. The birds seem to prefer the areas where the sod removal is the most recent, in the northern area of the extreme southeast corner. That's perfectly clear, right? The northern side of the southeast section........! Susan McWhirter McMinnville, TN
