John Yow, author of the newly published book, The Armchair Birder: Discovering the Secret Lives of Familiar Birds, will be appearing at the Southern Festival of Books (SFB) on Friday, October 9, 1:30-2:30 p.m., in the Old Supreme Court Room of the State Capitol. Following the seasons of the year, Mr. Yow covers 42 species in this book, exploring the improbable, unusual, and comical aspects of the birds that we know and love. Mr. Yow is a freelance writer (and avid birder) based in Ackworth, Georgia, and former senior editor at Longstreet Press in Atlanta. As with all SFB programs, admission is free and copies of the book will be available for sale following the presentation.
