Aug. 15, 2002 Memphis TN Going through Shelby Farms this morning I watched 6 Black Terns feeding over a Soybean field. As I had some time later while again passing through I found 27 Black, 2 Least, 2 Common and 2 Forster's along with 6 Spotted Sandpipers. Later this afternoon I went by the Mississippi River and counted 17 Black and 13 Least Terns. At the pits late this afternoon I only saw 2 Black and 6 Least. Black Tern reports are making it onto all the listservs in the surrounding states with one mass movement through the area. Good Birding!!! Jeff R.
