A Bledsoe County Spring Bird Count was held on Tuesday, May 1. There were 3 full -time parties with 5 observers (Janie Finch, Ed LeGrand, Tom Saya, Steve Stedman, and Winston Walden) who were briefly joined by Dollyann Myers and Ron Hoff. We found 116 species, but notably few migrants. We were saddened that Barbara Stedman was not able to join us, and this count is dedicated to her memory. New species to the Bledsoe county list (as maintained by Stephen Stedman): Henslow's Sparrow and Bobolink. http://iweb.tntech.edu/sstedman/BledsoeTNCheck-list.htm Bufflehead male was in pond in southern part of the Sequatchie Valley along Old Hwy 28.
