This morning after the KTOS Jay Walk at Eagle Bend Fish Hatchery in Anderson
County, I decided to stick around a bit and look for more birds. My hopes (I
aim high) were rails and Upland and Buff-breasted Sandpipers. Didn't find any
of those, but while I was cruising and scanning the fields a BOBOLINK popped up
out of the grass near the road and flew over to a taller patch beyond. It was a
pleasant surprise.
