November 14, 2002 Brainerd Levee, Chattanooga American Bittern, 1, flushed at edge of marsh near mile marker 1.4 around 11:00 AM, flew about 200 feet and landed at edge of marsh, out of sight. Green-winged Teal, 6, behind Buchanan school. Cooper's Hawk, 1 immature, landed in low bushes 20 feet from us, and allowed us to approach within 10 feet and watch a long time while it tried to see where all the little birds had gone. Brown Creeper, 1, woods near 1.6 marker Hermit Thrush, 2, woods near 1.6 marker Common Yellowthroat, 1 female, edge of marsh near 1.4 marker ( We were watching the Yellowthroat when we flushed up the Bittern.)
