On my usual morning walk between 7 and 8 am, I heard a Cerulean Warbler among a mixed flock of warblers that included Tennessee Warblers and Northern Parulas. Other Notable birds included 2 breeding pairs of Mississippi Kites that I have seen on the same perches for 6 consecutive mornings. This morning, three of them were in one tree. Other birds observed or heard on my 2 mile walk around my neighborhood included: Chimney Swift, White-Breasted Nuthatch, Downy Woodpecker, Red-Bellied Woodpecker, Eastern Wood Pewee, Brown Thrasher, Red-Eyed Vireo, White-eyed Vireo, House Finch, American Robin, Blue Jay, Brown-headed Cowbird, and Hooded Warbler. The area of my walk is in the Crestwood Subdivision, about 1/2 mile west of Lichterman Nature Center.
