Harold Birch and Danny Gaddy did stellar work leading today's CTOS trip to
Hinch Mt. in Bledsoe County, We finished the trip with a drive south
through the eastern part of Sequatchie Valley along East Valley Rd. Our
trip included a couple of elementary school-age birders who did a great job!

We totaled 51 species for the trip on a very warm day. Highlights included
6 different warblers on the mountain (pine, prairie, American redstart,
Kentucky, worm-eating and common yellowthroat) as well as Eastern wood
peewees, Eastern phoebe and Acadian flycatchers.

The biggest excitement was generated by two scissor-tailed flycatchers in
the Valley; one at Swafford Chapel that provided long looks and one near
Robinette Rd. that flew by as we passed.
