A singing Connecticut Warbler was seen this morning on the greenway at Shelby Bottoms. From the parking lot near the visitors center: The paved trail along the river (Riverside Trail) has a grassy loop path which goes straight as the main trail curves left, signed "Wildlife Crossing Trail", as one walks north along the river, perhaps half a mile. This trail is not shown on the map in the kiosk near the parking area. Where this trail reintersects the Riverside Trail (farthest from the RR bridge), the bird was seen in very dense foliage. Disclaimer - as usual, this bird is shy, and unlikely to be seen well in this spot, unless one enters the bushes. Also seen singing on the main trail was a Philadelphia Vireo.
