Here is a corrected version of the directions to the hawk watch

The directions to the Soddy Mountain Hawk Watch printed in The Chat are
incorrect.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20-21 HAWK WATCH ON SODDY MOUNTAIN
CYNTHIA & JIMMY WILKERSON & HAROLD BIRCH. Take Hwy. 27 North to Hwy. 111 in
Soddy. Take 111 North and exit at Jones Gap Rd. Turn left on Jones Gap Rd. and
continue to the very end of Jones Gap Rd. Be alert! After traveling about two
miles on Jones Gap Rd., and shortly after a series of tight S turns, the road
forks. The main road continues to the right, but Jones Gap Rd., the lesser
road, forks left. At the end of Jones Gap Rd. park, climb the bank, and you
are there. Hawks don’t usually start flying until 9:00-9:30. Bring a folding
chair, sunscreen, water, snacks, binoculars, scope, if you have one, and stay
as long as you can. If you cannot go those days, call Jimmy (423-305-2766).
They plan to be there from the Sept. 10 until the end of the month, except
September 19.
My correction is highlighted. I'm sorry to be a nuisance. You and Pixie
are doing great service for the club! I thought you would want to correct this
long-standing error.
