Sorry but Pool 11 no longer has shorebird habitat as water is shifted
around to irrigate and flood moist soil habitat for migrating rails,
bittern and teal. Sora are already abundant in many areas and can be heard
along the auto tour loop.
Kentucky Lake is getting low enough that it should soon begin exposing
meaningful mudflats for shorebirds both on and off the refuge. Spotted a
couple of solitary sandpipers on some narrow flats up the Duck River.
