I birded Eagle Bend Hatchery at Clinton, Anderson County, TN on Thursday, 8/25 from about 1645 - 1715. There was little good mudflat habitat present. The bottom large uppermost pond, which was drained late last week, is mostly dried out. Several of the lower unlined ponds have just been mowed, and if we get a good soaking rain, these areas could now provide good shorebird habitat. Birds seen: Great Blue Heron - 2 Green Heron - 5 Canada Goose - ~12 Mallard - several of mixed heritage Killdeer - 70 Buff-breasted Sandpiper - 2 on levee between ponds in northeast sector of area Mourning Dove - 100+ Belted Kingfisher - 1 Eastern Meadowlark - 5 Chuck Nicholson Norris, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net is owned by the Tennessee Ornithological Society Neither the society(TOS) nor its moderator(s) endorse the views or opinions expressed by the members of this discussion group.
