Scott is the friend I mentioned in my e-mail last week. Please help them and the cranes if you can. Thank you! All of our lives have been impacted by this tragedy. Friends of the North American Crane Working Group have been hit hard by Hurricane Katrina, as well. Scott Hereford and his family lost their home, their vehicle, and all of their possessions. Scott was the past president of this organization and has played a major role in the conservation of the Mississippi sandhill crane. Megan Lauber and the Audubon Species Survival Center survived the storm with the loss of two cranes, but they have many obstacles ahead of them. They lack fresh running water for the animals and many of their pens were damaged during the storm. We would like to show our support and appreciation to Scott and Megan and their dedication and passion to crane conservation by helping them in this time of need. By making a financial contribution, we not only help them get back on their feet, but we will be supporting the conservation of cranes in the Gulf Coast. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to help our crane friends, you can send a check to: NACWG c/o Tom Hoffmann, 341 West Olympic Place, Seattle, WA 98119 or you can pay with credit card using PayPal. Please email the amount to Tom at thoffmann@xxxxxxxxxxxxx and he will send an email reply with payment instructions. Thanks for you support in this time of need!
