Thirty-nine species were noted in Birchwood today on my property (Hamilton
County) or at the Cherokee Removal Memorial Park (Meigs County) as fall
officially began. I rarely see several of these species that are listed below.
* Pied-billed Grebe – CRMP (first-of-season)
* Bald Eagle – 2 immatures seen at the CRMP
* Yellow-throated Vireo – two seen at home – new species for me
* Gray Catbird – home – 9-19-20 was the first sighting of the season; 3
today
* Ovenbird – home
* Magnolia Warbler – home –This species has now been seen 6 days in a row.
* Chestnut-sided Warbler – home
* Summer Tanager – home – female
* Scarlet Tanager – home – female
* Rose-breasted Grosbeak – home – 4 days in a row beginning with 3 on
